“Fascinated by the art of cartooning since he was a kid, Tom Dean drew cartoons for the USS Hancock cruise book as junior officer where he won first place in the 1962 All-Navy Cartoon Contest. He began drawing cartoons for the USS Midway Museum after he becoming a volunteer in 2004, and later created Middie, the beloved comic docent for the ship.”
