Booz Allen Hamilton, now in its seventh year of partnership with the USS Midway Museum, will focus its support on the ship’s “No Child Left Ashore” STEM education scholarship fund in 2021.
With a history of support for Midway’s onboard STEM education field trip experiences, Booz Allen’s commitment this year will deliver scholarships for roughly 1,600 San Diego students from Title 1 schools to participate in onboard programs.
“We’re confident that we’ll be seeing San Diego students back on board Midway this fall for Midway educational field trips,” said Wayne Nuzzolo, Midway’s director of school programs. “Booz Allen Hamilton’s continuing support will make that a reality for a lot of students who are eager to come aboard and learn about electricity, weather, engineering and math.”
“It has been a challenging year for students, teachers and families navigating distance learning during the pandemic,” said Jennie Brooks, senior vice president at Booz Allen Hamilton. “Booz Allen is proud to continue sponsoring Midway’s educational programs, which this year included providing access to high-quality virtual STEM programming to schools. We are honored to partner with the Midway to support and inspire the next generation of STEM students.”
Booz Allen’s partnership with Midway has always been about developing and supporting educational opportunities and strengthening the Midway’s impact in the community. In seven years of partnership, Booz Allen has contributed nearly half a million dollars and innovative programming to support the museum’s education programs. In addition to their support for STEM, Booz Allen remains a supporting sponsor of Midway’s three patriotic-themed special public events: Legacy Week, July 4th Family celebration, and Veterans Day celebration.
For Booz Allen, the partnership extends far beyond the onboard programs. As Booz Allen Hamilton Principal Kevin Burke said, “Midway has become a symbol of our connection to the San Diego community.”

The relationship between Booz Allen and Midway is one of shared values and commitment to service. Booz Allen Hamilton, founded by a veteran, has continuously supported the military since working with the Department of Defense in 1940, and nearly one third of the firm’s employees are military connected, including veterans, National Guard members, military reservists, and spouses.
