I’m honored to join the USS Midway Museum family as the new capital campaign director where I’ll be leading efforts to raise the funds needed to bring Freedom Park at Burnham Navy Pier to life. As a proud New Orleans native, I’ve always felt a connection to port cities and the stories they tell.

Having attended many events on Midway, I’ve seen firsthand how this remarkable museum honors, educates and inspires. What captivates me most is the community. Our volunteers and staff share a passion that’s infectious, and there’s a warmth and laughter here that makes every day feel special.

I originally ventured into fundraising to help children experience art and culture, but what I’ve come to love most is connecting people with their passions. Freedom Park embodies that spirit. It will honor veterans, beautify San Diego’s waterfront and inspire future generations. Each person has a unique connection to this project, and I’m excited to help bring those stories to life.

Though he rarely spoke of his service, my father was a proud and dedicated Air Force veteran. While we may not have been a “military family” in the traditional sense, being part of a mission that honors veterans and their legacy feels deeply personal to me.

As I settle in to my new role on Midway, I bring more than 15 years of experience leading strategic fundraising initiatives, including the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s $100 million “Campaign for the Next Century.” I’m eager and excited to partner with the Midway community to create a civic landmark that celebrates service and liberty.

Any time of year is the right time to review your future financial planning. We hope you’ll consider adding Midway in those decisions through a QED, annuity, or a planned estate gift and join our prestigious Patriots Society. The Patriots Society is Midway’s gateway for enduring support. By choosing a planned gift, we can build a legacy of impact that will resonate with the museum for years to come. Robin Bolin, Donor Engagement Manager, would love to chat more about how to make that possible. She can be contacted at rbolin@midway.org. Thanks in advance for making Midway part of your philanthropic circle.
